Thoralby - Tithe Map 1840
Below is the Tithe Map for Thoralby Village 1840. I have labelled some of the more notable features. Such as: Two Public Houses; The George Inn and The Dales Volunteer (now Lingdale); Wesleyan Methodist Chapel (1820s); the Three Blacksmith's shops, Carpenter's and Joiner's shops; Shoemaker's shop; Lodging house and carrier, the Water Corn Mill and the Poor House, which was converted into the Primitive Methodist Chapel in 1848. For a more detailed map of occupations in 1841, see the 1841 Tithe for Thoralby or the 1841 census return.
